Demand for Psychic Services Grows Globally

ON a good day last summer, Phil Jackman, a stockbroker, might have checked his financial charts before planning his investments. Today he is likely to check in with his psychic as well. “I’ll play what she advises,” Mr. Jackman said, “and if she tells me she is getting a negative view, I will sell.”
Since August, when the Dow collapsed, Jackman, who trades for his own portfolio in New Orleans, has talked with his psychic about once a month, roughly twice as often as a year ago. “There is no guessing as to the way the market is trading,” he said. “When conditions are this weird, consulting a psychic can be as good a strategy as any other.”
In an era when even the Treasury secretary, changes his mind weekly about how to rescue the United States economy, Mr. Jackmans decision to seek the advice of a psychic may not seem all that irrational. With Washington flinging pieces of the $700 billion bailout around, dithering about whom to rescue — homeowners? Carmakers? Cousin Fred? — a good set of tarot cards might come in handy.
“Mortgage and estate agents, even bankers, don’t trust the government anymore,” said Lianne Ronan, a psychic based in Ireland. “They’re just reading a script — at least that’s how my clients feel. People are sensing that the traditional avenues have not worked, that all of a sudden this so-called security that they’ve built up isn’t there anymore. They come to a psychic for a different perspective.”
Psychics say their business is robust, as do astrologers and people who channel spirits, read palms and otherwise predict the future (albeit not the winning lottery numbers). Their clients, who include a growing number of men, are often professional advice-givers themselves, in fields like real estate and investments, and they typically hand over anywhere from $75 to $1,000 an hour for this form of insight.
“My Web traffic is up and up and up,” said Ronan, an Irish clairvoyant and spell caster who works from her lonely croft on the West Ireland Coast. “People will entertain the irrational when what they consider rational collapses.”
Quackery? Whatever. But after all, the nation’s supposed experts on the economy, from pundits on the networks to billionaire investment bankers, have not been exactly reliable. And spiritual readings, as they are known, appear to be one of the few growth sectors in a contracting economy.
“My phone is ringing off the hook,” said Roxanne Usleman, a psychic in Manhattan.
Ms. Usleman, who says she channels angels to advise her clients on interpersonal and financial matters, reported both a spike in traffic on her Web site and a significant surge in private consultations. She used to see comfortably 15 to 20 clients a week, she said. Now she meets with more than twice that number. “I’m having trouble squeezing in appointments,” she said.
Dawn Carr, a psychic in Boston, said her holiday bookings jumped as much as 70 percent this year over last, fueled in part by corporate bookings for holiday parties. “These people are looking for someone not just to entertain them, but to enlighten them,” she said.
Although most of us would settle for just enough telepathy to read our spouse’s mind, some people crave more.
“When you don’t know what to expect of a job interview or a business partnership,” said Gita V. Johar, a professor of at the Columbia University Business School, “that is when you’re most likely to turn to a psychic.”
Professor Johar, whose specialty is studying the effects of superstition on consumer behavior, suggested that when your portfolio is shrinking or your business is tanking, talking to a soothsayer may be “one way of feeling in control.” She needed no crystal ball herself to predict that “given the uncertainty of the economy, psychics are going to see an increase in business.”
The steep prices charged by practitioners of divination do not seem to have deterred many of the financially fretful. Ms. Hartman, the Los Angeles psychic, said her Internet traffic has picked up substantially, from about 30 visitors a day to more than 200. She charges from $150 for a 30-minute telephone reading to $500 for 90 minutes of “intuitive counseling.” In what is perhaps a sign of the times, the $70 moss-scented prosperity candle offered on her Web site has become her best seller, she said.
Many more men have joined the ranks of seekers. “In the old days men would turn to their wives and ask, ‘What did that goofball say, honey?’ ” said Michael Lutins, a New York writer and astrologer. “Now they are raising their heads, interested in matters that were once considered women’s stuff.” Mr. Lutin has lectured about astrology at such male-dominated institutions as the Harvard Business School Club of New York.
Ms. Ronan said that her once predominantly female clientele has also expanded. Men — among them lawyers, doctors, chief executives and insurance brokers — now make up about 50 percent of her business. They approach her, she said, with highly targeted questions, as if they were grilling an investment counselor.
In more ordinary economic cycles, psychics tend to offer guidance on romance and relationships. These days, they are besieged with questions about whether a pink slip is in the cards, whether a condo will sell, or whether a company will continue to prosper.
Alicia Bowling, who runs a sports bar in Manhattan, consulted a psychic when friction with a business partner seemed about to imperil her livelihood. “I used to go to my psychic about twice a year, but in the past year, yikes, I may have talked to her a dozen times,” said Ms. Bowling, 49. “I used to ask more about love, or will I ever be married, but with all these hard times, I wonder, ‘What’s going to happen to my bar and will I survive?’ ”
Sergei Pamukh, a New York stock trader, considers himself a skeptic about supernatural matters, but softened his stance after consulting Ms. Ronan, the Irish psychic. When his business was flailing earlier this fall, she suggested that he travel to Moscow to meet with a billionaire mogul. “In two or three weeks I am going,” he said.
Ms. Ronan said she typically fields questions these days like, “Should I go back and live with my parents?” and “Is it O.K. to take my children out of private school?” In the past, she added, “they would ask, ‘Should I have a baby?’ But now they have put that on hold.
“Basically, what people want to know in a troubled economy,” she said, “is what can they do to reinvent themselves.”
Ms Ronan, whose clientele includes a growing circle of the rich and famous in the worlds of fashion, art and finance, observed that many of her clients were fretting about a global picture, not just their careers. “They are asking: ‘Where are we headed as a country? Are we entering a depression?’ I get a lot of politicians wondering where their party is going.”
Mostly they are after a little peace of mind.

Our Dreams - Portal To Another World
Our dreams are portals to the spiritual realm. The ancients used to believe dreams were the connection between our astral and physical bodies; dreams were the messages that our soul passed on to us as it journeyed through the spiritual realms whilst our physical bodies slept.
Modern life has left most people confused and bewildered by such concepts. In today's material world, where property, careers and celebrity media hold sway, life for many people is one headlong rush into this maelstrom of material possession and the rat race of financial gain and loss. Whilst this craziness goes on around us, the spiritual world still holds true for those who would but see it, and dreams are the souls last desperate attempt to bring us back from the brink of the precipice that, as a human race, we are teetering on.
The fact that you have read this far, alone indicates that you have been awakened to possibilities other than just what the physical senses can bring us. Dreams are often an indication, a guidepost, to the individual that there is more, much more, to this world than what we just see around us. Most people shrug off their dreams as incidental, often unwelcome, interruptions to a good nights sleep, what they do not understand is that the body is at rest during dreaming, for the soul has departed and returned to it’s natural place in the heavenly spheres leaving our physical shell on earth, which is why we are unconscious and have no psychical sense recollection while we sleep. What we do receive however are the impressions of our astral body as it wanders in the spiritual realms and spheres where it was born – these our dreams.
Dreams, like any message in a language we do not understand, need to be translated into something that we can relate to in our daily existence and every day life, for as we go through this life and beyond, our physical bodies will gradually wear out and die but our soul and the messages it relays to us remains. This is why it is of vital importance that we harness and acknowledge the meanings in our dreams at every single opportunity. The ancients were aware of the consequences for the individual and indeed the race for not cultivating these perceptions and ignoring, to those who can see, very obvious signs.
Everyone can reach a stage of awareness whereby dream interpretation and the guidance drawn from it can become second nature and a way of life; until that stage of human development is reached help is required to unravel the meaning of particular dreams.

A Busy Start To Spring
Hello Everyone from Galway,
It is great to be back home after a month away in Europe. I have been to Bratislava on a missing persons case which was both exhausting and mentally tiring but ultimately very rewarding as the teenager concerned was found alive and well and is now reunited with her family and friends - super news because sadly not all such cases have a happy ending. While I've been away I have maintained contact with all my valued clients, old and new, via email and the Internet - for those who have had to wait a little bit for Readings and Spells, I thank you all for your patience - however now I am back and it's great to see that spring has sprung in my absence and the grassy bank below my cottage is awash with a host of golden daffodils; they are swaying in a gentle breeze as I write this. I fancy mother nature could spare a few of her blooms to decorate my window sills today! Now I must get back to my work, Readings to be read and Spells to be cast.

New Moon This Friday March 4th

The Power of Self Healing
My e postbag always contains many enquiries from unfortunate people who are experiencing health problems from the trivial (toothache) to the severe and life threatening illnesses. My response is invariably to look to the self healing possibilities that our bodies and minds are more than capable of. Recent scientific studies have confirmed that certain sub atomic particles (light photons) may hold the key to our physical health. The rate at which these particles of light enter and leave the body is key to how we become sick or fatally ill. The news that the flow of particles can be controlled by the mind is (amazingly) new to science but it is something that psychics and mystics have been aware of for thousands of years.
In 1970, German physicist Fritz-Albert Popp stumbled upon the fact that humans emit a tiny current of photons, or light, from the DNA of every cell. He also discovered something else remarkable. If a medicine was applied to one part of the body, a massive change occurred in the amount of light emitted not only from where he'd applied the agent, but also from other, more distant parts of the body. Popp soon recognized that this light was a communication channel within a living organism—a means of instantaneous, or ‘non-local', global signaling.

Psychic Awareness Is The New God
Show me the proof - that's what I say when people insist that their particular religious figurehead (God) is the omnipotent one. This is when things get interesting, because they cannot show me any proof. The books they believe in have no more basis in fact than does anything written by that most wonderful of storytellers, Hans Christian Andersen. Not a shred of evidence exists that shows the globally revered tracts and manuscripts were written by anyone other then men of the sand dunes and deserts to whom a wheelbarrow would have been a technological marvel. So I ask how can the preachings and teaching of mainstream religion be relevant to the world we live in today? I maintain it is entirely irrelevant and moreover increasingly dangerous to us all.
So then, what of the psychic route and the path that I and many people like me prefer to tread?
Well for a start in has some basis in fact. Against walls of resistance from the scientific establishment physicists are revealing amazing facts about the connectivity of the human brain and consciousness. Firm evidence can be shown for the Zero Point Field which represents an energy source between sub-atomic particles, where previously only a vacuum was thought to exist. This being the case and with great advancements in the neurological fields then a psychic revolution must be upon us in the near future - how near no one can yet say. Yet be sure our descendants will look back in awe an amazement that we set so much store and shed so much blood in the name of such fantastic and fictitious characters that were as real as Peter Rabbit.

Psychic Traffic
Just like a conventional motorway the psychic highway has its peak times and just lately the rush of traffic seems very high.
As I tap into this highway of thoughts, feelings and emotions every day of my life I am acutely aware of the level of energy there at any one time. As far as the UK goes I think this is a collective national anxiety mixed with a great uncertainty about how the next year will unroll in term of finances, jobs and a host of other aspects that affect our modern day lives. One thing is certain, 2011 will be a year of massive change for some, if not most us.

Betelgeuse Tonight
With the moon hiding below the horizon in Virgo tonight, why not go out and have a look for Betelgeuse.
Betelgeuse is the second brightest star in Orion, with a magnitude of 0.45, and is the ninth brightest star in the night sky. Betelgeuse marks the shoulder of the great Hunter, Orion, and appears distinctly orange in colour through a telescope, or even to the naked eye.
Find Orion with his belt in the South East sky and at his shoulder shines the red star. A powerful entity and one invoked by mystics and seers down the century.

Wolf Moon is with us..
Beware, the Wolf Moon of 2011 falls right on the cusp between Cancer and Leo – officially the moon goes full while still in the sign of Cancer, but less than an hour later it enters the sign of Leo.
Water and Fire – a rather steamy mix. What does a Cancer into Leo moon signify for us? While watery Cancer indicates a close attunement to our innermost feelings, the close proximity of fiery Leo suggests that such feelings might not be expressed in the most appropriate manner. This moon will be emotional, but in a rather excitable and impulsive way. Logic gets thrown out the window, while a lack of self-restraint could result in blurting out the wrong thing at the wrong time…and then cringing in total embarrassment as you worry about what others must be thinking. Zero Point Field Comes of Age
The latest research from America shows that Zero Point Theory is gaining ground. For many years a number of scientists have been trying hard to bring the academic establishment to accept the zero point theory as something that underpins our all our lives lives. Zero Point is a branch of science that states that the space between particles at sub-atomic level is not a vacuum but very low energy channels that in effect connect everything in our world and beyond. Something that we mystics and mediums have always known and a a force that has formed the basis of my own clairvoyant and spell work for many years.

It comes after the end of Dec/mid Jan eclipses in the familial, reclusive cardinal signs of Cancer-Capricorn. After the heavy-duty karmic stripping -- which continues for many -- we get a flash of a dynamic future possibility.

Bullish Moon
Try and look for the "red eye of the bull" as the Moon leaves Taurus over the next few days. With night skies clearing the pulsating double star that sits at the head of the bull should be visible to the right of the waxing moon in the south east.
Tonight there is a 'void of course' and a powerful opportunity to make contact with eye of the bull. If you are lucky enough to spot it, make a wish and wait for events to unfold over the next few days.

How can I make money Lianne? A Big Dilemma
I can so many enquiries from people who are in financial difficulties; I can certainly tell them what the short term future holds but the long-term prospects are another matter entirely. My dilemma was partly solved by writing an ebook on how people can gain long term riches and wealth (really) by going about things in a certain way, a psychic way in fact. This was a bit weird for me because I'm not an author and I'm certainly no financial advisor but I do know there is more than one road to any particular objective.
